What is 100in1Day?

100In1Day is a global festival of civic engagement and growing movement that is changing how people interact with their cities.

100in1Day Hamilton is BACK for 2016 and taking place on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 - how will you transform your city?

Originating in Bogotá, Colombia in 2012, it has encouraged hundreds of one-day community-based interventions in cities around the world with things like street art, urban gardens, beautification projects, social events, and improvements in city infrastructure all being profiled in a city-wide festival. Last year, Hamilton, Toronto, and Vancouver joined cities around the world on Saturday, June 6, 2015.

This year, Hamilton will be joining Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Edmonton, and Montreal; all striving for 100 or more community initiatives to take place on June 4th, 2016!

About 100In1Day Hamilton

100In1Day is a growing global movement that is changing how people interact with their cities. Originating in Bogotá, Colombia in 2012, it has encouraged hundreds of one-day community-based interventions in cities around the world including Montreal, Santiago, and Cape Town.

On June 6, 2015 Hamilton saw 120+ projects or initiatives, also known as urban interventions, animate areas across the entire City of Hamilton all on one day. These interventions are developed by individuals, community groups, and organizations and can be anything from street art and urban gardening to beautification projects and social engagement events.

On Saturday, June 4th, 2016, 100in1Day is coming back to Hamilton! How will you transform your city?

100In1Day is presented by Evergreen, a national not-for-profit organization that makes cities more livable.

100in1Day provides an open model for participating in an exercise to improve the city – where small actions can lead to big change. In order to help you, we've added some resources to guide you through the process.
